Kitchen Remodel
- This room originally had a very small & cramped U-shape kitchen with a breakfast table for 4 in front of the sliding glass doors that blocked access in and out of the door
- By removing the U which came off the new refrigerator location and changing the traffic patterns and walk areas easy access to the sliding glass doors was achieved
- Connecting an eating bar to the L-shaped peninsula of the opposite wall from the door got an eating table larger than the original free standing table
- This counter also doubles as added counter space in the kitchen
- The flow of food from the cook top to the adjoining counter at meal time is extremely efficient
- Additional storage, was added at the end of the original breakfast area with the use of 13″ deep tall cabinets with also included wine rack, display cabinets with glass shelves and lighting, and a TV on an open shelf at the end of the eating bar
- This eating bar is also used as a desk area during the day with the phone and drawers accessible from the back side of the kitchen
- A pocket door was installed between the kitchen and the formal dining room

Project Overview
This room originally had a very small cramped U-shape kitchen with a breakfast table for 4 in front of the sliding glass doors that blocked access in and out of the door. While going thru the design process I noticed the wife seemed very uncomfortable. Finally, on the visit in which we seemed to agree on the final plan, I asked her if she was OK with everything we were planning. She looked at me and asked, “Are you sure you have not mis measured our room?” She went on, “I can not believe everything we are planning will fit in to this small room.” I measured everything correctly and this kitchen fit the space perfectly, giving the clients family many enjoyable hours of function and entertainment.
