Study/Guest Room Remodel
- We converted a spare room into a multi-function study and guest room combination
- Desk area with a peninsula desk that can be used from either side
- Library bookcase storage for medical books and journals
- Built in pull down “Murphy Bed”, custom fit into the cabinetry
- Reading lighting built into bed cabinetry
- With the rooms existing closet space it functions well as a double duty home office and library or an extra guest room when needed
Master Bath Remodel
- This entire room was reworked to maximize the functional use of the existing floor space available
- The repositioning of the walls and doorways created a huge master closet which spans the entire width of the bedroom and wide open master bath, out of rooms that originally felt and functioned as if small and cramped
- “Functional Bathroom Design” concept was used to create this bath
- The double sink with tall storage cabinets with electrical outlets inside, within arms reach of each sink create an ideal his and hers sink grooming area
- All items and appliances used daily by each person remain plugged in and ready to use within each cabinet
- During use the cabinet door is left open exposing all stored items to easy access of the user
- Upon finishing use, items are simply put back on their appropriate shelves and the doors are closed keeping a clean, attractive, and uncluttered bath
- The tall storage cabinets wrap around a corner of the wall for extra storage towards the private toilet room hidden behind the cabinets
- Small halogen down lights in the valence above the sinks give ample task lighting while the florescent lights above and below the cabinets as they float off the floor give a soft ambient light to the room while providing a beautiful accent to the room
- A vanity area was built in to the left of the tub
- Glass block was put in the shower wall to allow natural sun light into the shower and bath while providing privacy without the need for privacy shades
- The large operable window added at the tub does have shades
- The existing leaded glass doors with transom were moved to the new entrance location
- Matching granite tiles were used to build the new shower with clear glass enclosure which maximized the light transmittance and added to the visual space of the room
- The shower was built large enough for two with separate shower heads and controls
- The shower seat also has a recessed shampoo storage area below
