Since beginning his San Diego Kitchen and Bath Design and Remodeling business in 1977 Dan has completed over 1,000 residential kitchen and bath remodeling projects. Though he does specialize in Kitchen and Bath Remodeling, his efforts to solve problems for his clients has lead him into room additions, decks, wine cellars, and all imaginable residential remodeling projects.
Dan originally did business under the name Baywood Kitchens, Inc. In the late 1980's he decided to focus on what he perceived had became his core business, in which he took care of clients that he worked with personally, from start to finish on each project, rather than having a sales staff which he managed and construction foreman that oversaw the work.
This simpler business model allowed Dan to make the most of his talents and abilities while making his daily work far more enjoyable and stress free. It also insured that his clients got the highest possible level of service through easy and efficient lines of communication.
Since 1986, when he last advertised, all his kitchen and bath remodeling business has been generated by repeat business and referrals from happy customers.
Kitchen and Bath Remodeling & Construction Solutions
- Kitchen and Bath Design: Dan's design starts with the idea that "Form Follows Function". This means that he analyzes and solves the functional aspect of a problem first. Only after the functional solution, that satisfies his clients needs is met, can he then apply the aesthetic elements that complete the solution and make the room look good. In short, rooms that look good but fail to function at their best are a constant nuisance to you as you live in the home. - Kitchen & Bath Remodeling: Since day one, Kitchen and Bath Design & Remodeling has been Dan's specialty. Though he has used manufactured cabinets in the past, since 1989, 99% of his projects are done with Dan's own custom made cabinets that his personnel assemble on site. He routinely copies or creates door styles and offers custom finishes and materials to meet his clients needs. Dan has won over 20 National Kitchen and Bath Design Awards for his Kitchen and Bath remodeling work and has had his Kitchen and Bath Remodeling work published in numerous national and local magazines

- Remodeling: The majority of our kitchen and bath remodeling work entails extensive remodeling of the interior of our projects. Moving walls & doors, adding new doors & windows, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical changes and upgrades are all common elements of our work. We work in all rooms of the home and often create new use out of existing interior spaces creating home offices, libraries, wine cellars, decks, master suites & closets, and meet any other need our clients present.
- Room Additions: Dan's philosophy on room additions is real simple. A successful addition is one that looks like a well designed part of the original home, not an obvious add on. As you look through Dan's photo gallery you will see this in all the additions shown, with one exception. A small 2 Bdrm 1 bath 950 SF La Jolla home in which he purposefully, at the clients request, changed the entire architectural concept of the home by adding a second story A-Frame addition.
- Communication - Start to Finish: Though Dan does on occasion provide only kitchen and bath design consultation or cabinetry to clients. The overwhelming majority of his work is as a turn key package in which he starts by solving his clients design problem and follows through as the kitchen and bath remodeling contractor on the project through completion. This turn key process does take a great burden off the homeowner. The fewer people the homeowner needs to communicate with, the less that can go wrong and the easier the process is on the homeowner mentally and emotionally. Clear, open, and consistent communication throughout a project is the surest way to insure a successful completion of that project.
Real Estate Solutions
- We Buy Homes: We buy real estate that meet our financial formula, in any physical condition. In fact the worse condition the home is in, in many cases, the more interested we are in buying it, since it could more easily fit our formula. Because we pay cash and do not use conventional financing, we can close in less than 30 days in most cases. We are experienced in short sales and all forms of creative financing. So if you have a home you need to sell fast, we could be the solution. We are also members of 3 national real estate investors associations, so if a property does not meet our formula, we often pass them on to other investors in our network.
- We Rent Homes: We occasionally have homes for rent. Check our site periodically to see if we have one in an area you are interested in.
- We Sell Homes: We occasionally have homes for sale. Though we welcome making sales to owners with conventional financing, in today’s economic climate most of our sales are done via private financing, creative financing or lease options.
