Kitchen and Bath Remodeling & other Construction Services
Dan Nesovic
Since beginning his Kitchen and Bath Design and Remodeling business in 1977 Dan has completed over 1,000 residential kitchen and bath remodeling projects.
Though he does specialize in Kitchen and Bath Remodeling, his efforts to solve problems for his clients has lead him into room additions, decks, wine cellars, and all imaginable residential remodeling projects.
Since 1986, when he last adverted, all his business has been generated by repeat business and referrals from happy customers.
Kitchen and Bath Design
Dan's design starts with the idea that "Form Follows Function". This means that he analyzes and solves the functional aspect of a problem first. This facet of design is termed "space planning".
Meaning, the best looking solutions normally are derived from the best functional solutions, not the reverse. When you see things in nature that look spectacular, that spectacular look is always derived by the function of the elements in play.
Only after the functional solution, that satisfies his clients needs is met, can he then apply the aesthetic elements that complete the solution and make the room look good. This facet of design is termed "decorating".
In short, rooms that look good but fail to function at their best are a constant nuisance as you live in the home. While, rooms that function well, and look good, turn a house into a home and make every moment you live there an enjoyable experience.
To learn more about how this concept works in action see the "Functional Bath Design" page on this site.
We specialize in designing and creating highly functional kitchen and bath remodeling projects that also look great and stand up to the test of time. See for yourself in our Kitchen and Bath Remodeling photo gallery.
Kitchen & Bath Remodeling
Since day one, Kitchen and Bath Remodeling and Design has been Dan's specialty.
Though he has used manufactured cabinets in the past, since 1986, 99% of his projects are done with Dan's own custom made cabinets that his personnel assemble on site. He routinely copies or creates door styles of other nationally known manufacturer's and offers custom finishes and materials to meet his clients needs.
Dan designs each project and sees all project through to completion; visiting the job site daily to supervise and communicate with his personnel, subcontractors, and customer. This hands on approach keeps everyone informed and maintains open and easy communication throughout the project which insures each customer gets exactly what they had envisioned from their Kitchen and Bath Remodeling experience.
In the mid 1980's Dan developed a unique way of designing bath's that is far more functional and efficient than traditional bathroom design concepts. Bath's designed with this functional system as their basis make small spaces feel bigger, and offers a truly unique look. Dan simply calls this concept "Functional Bath Design."
Structural Remodeling The majority of our kitchen and bath remodeling work entails extensive structural alterations of the interior of our projects.
Moving walls & doors, adding new doors & windows, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical changes and upgrades are all common elements of our work.
Though specialize in Kitchen and Bath Remodeling, we work in all rooms of the home and often create new use out of existing interior spaces creating home offices, libraries, wine cellars, decks, master suites & closets, and meet any other need our clients present.
Room Additions Dan's philosophy on room additions is real simple. A successful addition is one that looks like a well designed part of the original home, not an obvious add on.
As you look through our photo gallery you will see this in all the additions shown, with one exception. A small 2 Bdrm 1 bath 950 SF La Jolla home in which he purposefully, at the clients request, changed the entire architectural concept of the home by adding a second story A-Frame addition and doubling the size of the home.
Communication Though Dan does on occasion provide only kitchen and bath design or whole house space planning consultation or cabinetry to clients. The overwhelming majority of his work is as a turn key package in which he starts by solving his clients design problem and follows through as the contractor on the kitchen and bath remodeling project through completion.
This turn key process does take a great burden off the homeowner. The fewer people the homeowner needs to communicate with, the less that can go wrong and the easier the process is on the homeowner mentally and emotionally. Clear, open, and consistent communication throughout a project is the surest way to insure a successful completion of that project.
This one on one communication starts in the design process. When the construction part of the project begins it starts with a very detailed set of plans, specifications, and contract that depict the scope of work in such detail that the model number of light bulbs are included. Dan visits the job daily to make sure all subs and personnel understand the specifications and are on track to complete the project with the same vision from which it started. This daily visit also entails communicating with the customer to make sure there is a continual open and easy line of communication which ensures the clients vision is captured in the final Kitchen and Bath remodeling done for them.
From start to finish you will have a direct one on one line of communication with the same person.
